BeamNG.research is the older version of our software which is now known as BeamNG.tech.
You will receive a confirmation email with instructions explaining how to install BeamNG.tech. Generally, you will find a file called tech.key that will be used by the software to validate your licence.
After downloading a build of BeamNG.tech, this file needs to be placed in the simulator’s installation directory, replacing the empty placeholder tech.key, for the software to find and verify it.
Please note that, contrary to releases before v0.33, tech.key should not be placed in the user folder as it will not be detected there.
BeamNG.tech is released under a mix of commercial licences for industry clients and non-commercial licences for research institutes, academia, and similar organisations.
